- The Golden Acorn Award is an award presented to a volunteer in recognition of his/her dedication and outstanding service to all children and youth in the school community. This person will likely have donated their time in multiple classrooms or events, and has helped many Hazelwood staff and students. The award recognizes volunteer service “above and beyond” a particular job description.
- The Outstanding Educator Award recognizes individuals who have provided outstanding educational opportunities for children and youth that are beyond the normal scope of their jobs to make learning experience fun, beneficial, and challenging. An outstanding educator could be a teacher, assistant, custodian, bus driver, administer, or community member.
- The Outstanding Advocate Award recognizes an individual for their advocacy work on behalf of children and youth. This person would be dedicated to all children and would demonstrate commitment to helping create strong policies related to the health, welfare, safety, and education of children.
