November 1, 2022 — All School, Fun Run Prize Day!
In Appreciation & Celebration Of Fundraising Efforts Meeting All Goals…
Every Scholar received a Hazelwood Mustang Spirit t-shirt on the day of the event. Then on Tuesday November 1, 2022 the whole school celebrated successful fundraising efforts by starting the day coming to school in their PJ’s and getting met with the opportunity to, “Soak The Staff”.
‘Soak the Staff’ was the Fun Run’s highest prize tier titled the ‘Principal’s Challenge’. This prize was where five brave and fearless staff members on the first freezing day of November allowed classes to rotate through and spray them with water soakers in a one-way water battle, lasting for more than 30 minutes! The staff were GREAT SPORTS and seemed to appreciate the PTSA Board’s efforts of filling the buckets with warm water!
Later that day, the PTSA order 80+ pizzas and gave all scholars in attendance the opportunity to share a slice or two of cheese pizza at their lunch. This lunch offering was given in addition to regularly offered nutiritional service options.

How is the Hazelwood PTSA involved in this event?
The Hazelwood Parent, Teacher, Student, Association (PTSA), plans and hosts this event in direct partnership with Hazelwood Elementary School to provide events & programs, educational tools, & direct teacher reimbursements that would otherwise not be available to our school, or our scholars. Fun Run creates fun and active memories for our scholars while the money raised from this fundraiser goes directly into severing our mission.
Hazelwood PTSA Mission:
To make an impact in the lives of every scholar at Hazelwood Elementary School by engaging, and empowering families through advocating, community building, and enriching the education of our scholars.
What Are The Whole School Prizes for the 2022-2023 Total Fundraising Awards:
In Appreciation & Celebration – Every Scholar will receive a Mustang, Hazelwood Mustang Spirit t-shirt.
$15k – Pizza and PJs – All grades will get a PJ spirit day and PTSA will pizza for each class during their lunchtime!
$20k – Class Supplies/Equipment
Each classes will get $50 to spend for additional recess items, books for their classroom, science kits, etc.
The grade that contributed the highest value of donations will have earned, each class in that grade level receiving $100 per class!
$25k – The Principal’s Challenge! “Soak The Staff”
