Educator Appreciation Week is when we come together to show the Hazelwood teachers, admins, and staff how much we value their hard work, dedication and commitment to our students.
There will be a unique opportunity each day to shower the staff with appreciation. We’d love parent support to write fan mail, clear teacher wishlists, stock the lounge, and helping your students dress in teacher’s fave colors on Friday.
MONDAY 5/5 Star Studded Welcome – Send your students to school with fan mail for their teachers this week. Students will also have a chance to write thank you notes at recess on this day. We’re also asking parents to help us stock the lounge for a star studded welcome! Stock the Staff Lounge >
TUESDAY 5/6 Star Treatment – Let’s come together to clear the teacher wishlists, just like the stars they are getting the VIP treatment!
WEDNESDAY 5/7 Room Service – Teachers will get drinks and treats delivered to their classroom throughout the day.
THURSDAY 5/8 Red Carpet Luncheon – Lunch will be provided for teachers and staff.
FRIDAY 5/9 Our Teacher’s Biggest Fans – Dress up in your teacher’s favorite color and get ready to fangirl as we roll out the red carpet for Hazelwood’s hottest stars. Check out teacher favorites >

There are many ways to get involved! You can join, donate, or volunteer on the many committees that need your help! Or sign up for our newsletter to stay in-the-know.
Definitely not! Anyone in the Hazelwood community is welcome to attend the PTSA general membership meetings but in order to vote on important measures in the meetings, you will need to be a paid member. These forums are a great place to get updates on what’s happening at our school and provide feedback or ideas on how to make the Hazelwood experience the best it can be. We would love to see you there!
Before you volunteer, you’ll need to complete a background check with the Renton School District. That’s it! It only takes a few minutes to complete. If you plan on volunteering in the classrooms at any point this year, we recommend filling this out as soon as possible so you can be ready to help when needed.
Yes! We just require that those people volunteering in the classrooms complete a background check through the Renton School District before volunteering. Anyone is welcome to attend our community events!
