Hazelwood Auction 2024
The Hazelwood Elementary School Auction is our biggest biennial fundraiser and we need all hands on deck to make it a success! Here are some ways you can help:
Volunteer your time
We are still looking for volunteers to set up, tear down, register guests, and delivery auction items to the venue the afternoon and evening of April 19th. Donating your time goes a long way! There are many things to do and many hands make light work.
Help with a class project
Classroom reps will be working with teachers and students to create a piece of art for each class. If you’re a classroom rep, coordinate with your teacher on what you want the project to be, and make a plan to get it done. Each class can be reimbursed up to $100 for supplies. Submit the form below, your receipts, and this reimbursement form.
Attend the auction
Ticket sales are closed. We look forward to seeing some of you at this year’s auction on April 19th.
The auction themed, “A Day at the Races,” is an opportunity to don your finest derby attire (and your big hats) and support the school by bidding on some amazing items. Who wouldn’t love a grown-ups night out at the Golf Club at Newcastle? You won’t want to miss it!
Donate items to auction
Thank you to all who donated! Donations are now closed.
We have a group of volunteers that gathers donations from local businesses, but we won’t meet our goals with your help too. You can donate items yourself, or solicit donations from friends and family. It can be as simple as donating a bottle of wine or whiskey for our wine/whiskey pull. But we’re looking for big ticket items too, like vacation rentals, unique experiences, or sporting events!
Donate your skills
Thank you to all who donated! Donations are now closed.
There’s been no better opportunity to tap into your unique skills or interests and share them with the Hazelwood community. Maybe you’re a budding (or professional) photographer–Consider auctioning off a family photography session. Maybe you like to dabble in woodwork–A custom coffee table will rake in the big bucks! Love to bake? Donate a cake a month to auction off. No skills at all? People will pay top dollar for someone to walk their dog. We can’t wait to see what you come up with!
Create a themed basket
Thank you to all who donated! Donations are now closed.
Friends don’t let friends donate alone. Your class parents will be reaching out to build themed baskets for the event. You can provide a single item that fits that theme, or a monetary donation for class reps to purchase items. We are excited to see how creative you can get! Will your class be the one to raise the most money?
The proceeds from our auction fund grants for curriculum, library books, PE and recess equipment, Meet the Masters art program, STEM enrichment, school garden, and more. With your support, the students at Hazelwood Elementary School can continue to excel in all areas of study.
At the present moment we’re looking for more items to auction off. Work with your class reps, friends, or family to put together themed baskets. Big ticket items like vacations, unique experiences, and sporting events help us reach our goals faster!
Our goal is to raise $75,000 to support enrichment programs through 2026. We know this is a big goal but together we can reach it.
Tickets are $100 for a single ticket, $175 for 2, and $900 for a table of 10. Buy your tickets now >
Your ticket provides you entrance to the event, dinner, and ability to bid for items. Drinks will be available for purchase.
As guests arrive they will be able to participate in a silent auction, wine/whiskey pull, and raffles. A silent auction is where items for sale are displayed for attendees to browse, place bids on, and purchase. Guests can purchase tickets for the wine and whiskey pull which allows them to pick/take home a wrapped bottle (the bottle won’t be revealed until after you select it).
There will also be a live auction after dinner just as you’d imagine with an auctioneer and paddle to raise for bids. We end the night with a dessert dash (tables bid on desserts) and announcing silent auction winners.
There will be games and prizes throughout the night.
We are looking for 50 bottles of wine and 25 bottles of whiskey ranging $20-$35 in price. Each wine/whiskey pull ticket will cost $25, and each bottle wrapped so receipients won’t know exactly what bottle they will get.
There’s no official dress code, but we encourage you to dress for the venue–The Golf Club at Newcastle– and the theme, “A Day at the Races”. There will be prizes for best dressed. But the real prize is showing up in your finest derby attire!
If you are requesting donations from local businesses, they’ll likely ask for a request on Hazelwood letterhead and a printable form for their records. You can download the procurement form and donation letter and print or email along with your request.
